Hi, I’m Amanda, the founder of Snapella.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with keeping things clean and organized. But there was one thing I could never seem to keep clean: my hairbrush.

Every time I brushed my hair, I’d see strands tangled around the bristles, mixed with product residue and dust. My grandma used to clean her brushes with toothpicks, and I tried the same — but it never really got rid of all the buildup. No matter how much I loved a hairbrush, eventually, it would just feel too gross to keep using.

I searched everywhere for a solution. But the so-called “self-cleaning” brushes on the market were a huge disappointment. They were flimsy, uncomfortable, and barely functional. Some broke after just a few uses. Others were simply ugly. None of them could compare to the quality of my favorite hairbrushes.

That’s when it hit me — there had to be a better way.

I started researching and experimenting. I wanted to create something that didn’t just clean itself — it had to actually brush well, feel good in my hand, and last.

As I learned more about hairbrush hygiene, I was amazed by how much a clean brush could impact hair health. A cleaner brush means a healthier scalp, stronger hair, and a more effective styling routine. And now, I can finally brush my hair without worrying about unwanted residue.
